Boys Basketball vs. D-Y

All a team can hope for is to control its own destiny, and with 5 games remaining in the regular season, Marshfield has the chance to capture their first league title in a mighty long time if they can win out. If they need any more incentive–and they don’t, but it’s still worth noting–hall of fame head coach Bob Fisher is 5 wins away from his 500th win, meaning that if the Rams win the remaining games on their schedule, they will earn an ACL championship on the same night that they earn their coach a monumental milestone. Needless to say, motivation should not be a problem over the next couple of weeks for the Marshfield team.

Of course, they stand in this position because they earned another win tonight over Dennis-Yarmouth, 66-53.

Leading the way for the Rams was junior Nick DaPrato, who is emerging as one of the top sixth-man players in the area. DaPrato is a competent defender and a versatile offensive threat who can navigate traffic in the paint, or drain shots from beyond the arc. In tonight’s effort, he scored 16 points and notched 4 steals, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists for good measure.

Other top performers for Marshfield included sophomore guard Aaron Davis, who compiled the game’s only double-double (14 points, 10 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals), senior forward Phil Whitaker (12 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks), sophomore guard Barrett Murphy (15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 assists, 1 steal), and senior guard Tom Fitzgerald (6 points, 4 assists, 1 steal), and senior forward Carson Cruz (3 points, 7 rebounds).

Top contributors for the Dolphins were sophomore Dan Winsor (14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist), senior center Dillon Wright (11 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block, 1 assist), junior guard Quantez Franklin (9 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal, 1 assist), and senior forward Patrick Rudewicz (9 rebounds, 2 points). D-Y’s #32 was not listed on the roster made available to us, but he was a significant contributor, as well (10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal).

Wrestling Highlight Video 07-08

Of all the Colin McElaney (’09) productions we’ve seen over the past two years, this might be one of the least known, as it was not played on “Before the Bells,” but it’s another excellent example of his work, as he pitched in to help make sure the team had a memorable highlight of their memorable season.

Football Banquet Short 08

This is a shortened version of this year’s football banquet video. It includes the intro segment and the tribute to the senior players. Thanks to Jon Mullen (’09), a three-year defensive starter (and MSB news anchor), for editing the majority of this video. Thanks also to Dan Bargar (’10) for his commentary work.
